River Valley Board of Education Vacancy
The Board of Education of the River Valley School District is accepting applications for citizens interested in filling a vacancy on the Board of Education. Those interested in applying are required to submit a letter stating their interest and outlining their qualifications. The letter of application should address the following questions:
Why are you interested in serving on the Board of Education?
What qualifications do you have to serve on the Board of Education?
Can you make the time commitment to serve on the Board of Education? Please describe.
Resumes are not required but would assist the Board in making a better-informed decision.

All application data must be received by 2:00 p.m., on Monday, October 19, 2026. All candidates must meet the state requirements for membership on a local board of education, which includes residency within the school district.
The person appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office until the next scheduled School Election (November 2028). The term for the vacancy seat expires on December 31, 2030. Candidates will be interviewed in a public session at a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, October 26, 2026, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the Middle/High School. The selection and the appointment of the new Board member will take place immediately following the interviews.
