We are so proud of the outstanding work being done by our custodians and maintenance/grounds crew on our facilities this summer. Our school is getting a deep cleaning and will be spick and span and ready for our kids and educators to return to in a few weeks.
We are also getting a great deal of work done on our facilities this summer to ensure an excellent learning environment as called for in our Strategic Plan.
Gym Floor: Our old gym floor has been removed and distributed to those who want a piece of River Valley history. Many thanks to Colby Caid, Dave York, Mike Essig, Erik Shriber, and our team who made this distribution so successful! The new floor has been delivered and is about to be installed. One of the reasons this is a time-consuming process is the bleachers needed to be moved back-and-forth to complete the entire gym floor. We continue to anticipate that our new floor will be done by the end of August.
Parking lots/sidewalks: We are making tremendous progress on our parking lot repaving, as well as replacing many of our older sidewalks. We’ve also improved the drainage in our parking lot and replaced the island on the north side of the building to make it more attractive and safe.
Key fobs: Key fobs are being installed on many of our external entry doors to improve our school security, efficiency, and accountability.
PA System: We are replacing our PA system to make communicating with our students and staff more efficient and effective.
Fencing: We are also replacing much of the fencing near our football field and track area, which will look much nicer as our fall sports season is just around the corner.
