BOARD OF EDUCATION NEWS

Phil Bender has resigned from the Presidency of our River Valley School Board.  Nikki Springer, who was Vice President, is now our School Board President effective August 5, 2026.  We thank Phil for his leadership as Board President and are grateful he will continue to serve on our School Board.

Our Board of Education has appointed Dave Whitlow to the Board of Education to complete the term of Vickie Wagner, who stepped down in May after nearly twenty years of service.  Dave previously served on our Board of Education for 12 years and has hit the ground running with our efforts to continually improve our school district.

We have three board members whose terms are expiring at the end of the year.  According to our County Clerk who runs the elections, during the November election we have three incumbents running for those three vacancies: Phil Bender, Gail Freehling, and Dave Whitlow.  We appreciate their willingness to continue to serve the River Valley school community providing our district with stability and commitment to continuous improvement.
