A group of River Valley students had the unique opportunity to attend the BCS Leadership Conference in November, led by renowned speaker and author Craig Hillier. Hillier, who wrote “High School Sports Leader” and “Push the Sled,” is well-known for traveling across the country to inspire athletes and coaches with his strategies for leadership and personal growth.
The day was packed with powerful activities aimed at challenging students to step up as leaders in their schools and teams. Hillier provided practical leadership strategies, motivational stories, and thought-provoking activities that left a lasting impression. It was a wonderful day of learning and growth - the students were challenged to think critically about their roles as leaders and were inspired to bring these strategies and messages back to their teams.
The event left participants energized and excited to make a difference. Plans are already underway to bring a new group of underclassmen to next year’s conference, ensuring the leadership torch continues to be passed.
