FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
Step 1 - Create an FSA ID: FSA ID Creation
- One parent/guardian will need an FSA ID as well. If you have already created an FSA ID for yourself or for an older child, you will not need to create a new one.
Step 2 - Use this link to complete the FAFSA: fafsa.ed.gov
Prefer a mobile app? The FAFSA form is on the myStudentAid app, available on the App Store (iOS) or on Google Play (Android).
Remember - never pay someone to complete this *free* application for you!
Make sure you complete the 2023-2024 app for starting school in the fall of 2023!

Michigan Student Scholarships and Grants (MiSSG)
Once you submit your FAFSA, go to the MiSSG website at www.michigan.gov/mistudentaid and create an account through their Student Portal. Through this portal, complete any additional forms needed for financial aid programs you may qualify for.
